Marilyn Monroe and George Clooney: travellers’ dream airline cabin crew ?
Marilyn Monroe and Jennifer Aniston would be the average traveller’s ideal flight attendants, a poll has suggested.
The survey asked travellers to choose their dream stewardess from both the modern era and from Hollywood’s golden age. Jennifer Aniston, best known for her role as Rachel in Friends, received 18.1 per cent of votes in the former category, putting her just ahead of The Duchess of Cambridge (17.1 per cent) and fellow actress Angelina Jolie (14.7 per cent). Pippa Middleton and Beyonce each received around 11 per cent of votes.
In the latter category, Marilyn Monroe received the backing of 22 per cent on those questioned. Second place went to Audrey Hepburn, with 20 per cent of the vote.
Travellers were also asked who their dream pilot would be. George Clooney pipped Prince Harry to the top slot. The actor received 22.5 per cent of the vote, while Harry – who is qualified to fly a helicopter – got just 21.4 per cent.
Nearly 10.8 per cent of travellers would entrust Angelina Jolie, a keen amateur pilot, at the helm on their aircraft, putting her ahead of Aviator star Leonardo diCaprio (11.6 per cent) and Barack Obama (11 per cent).
Earlier this year a report claimed that flight attendants have the worst jobs in travel, based on pay, stress, physical demands and future prospects.
The survey was carried out by American Airlines.
